Sleep Psychologist | Health Psychologist | Board-Certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine

Founder & Principal Consultant, Sleep & Change Specialists

Professional biography

Christine Mason is a sleep psychologist and health psychologist, and a Diplomate in Behavioral Sleep Medicine (DBSM). She earned her PhD in Health Psychology with clinical training at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, completed her predoctoral internship at Henry Ford Health, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, alongside specialty training and experience in behavioral sleep medicine.

Behavioral sleep medicine is an interdisciplinary specialty focused on the assessment and evidence-based behavioral and psychological treatment of sleep and circadian disorders. Her DBSM board certification is a specialty credential in that field, held alongside her doctoral training and licensure in psychology. Together they are what people mean when they describe her as a sleep psychologist.

Her clinical work centers on insomnia and CBT-I, circadian rhythm, sleep in medical and psychiatric populations, women's sleep, family and pediatric sleep, and behavior change. Alongside direct care, she has worked in digital health: clinical leadership, program development, clinical operations, clinician training, technology-enabled care, wearable and sensor data interpretation, sleep and behavior-change intervention design, cross-functional product work, outcomes measurement, and clinical governance. She also works as a consultant and clinical advisor to healthcare and technology organizations, and holds clinical leadership roles.

She writes and presents on sleep and circadian science for professional and public audiences. Her publications and invited lectures, conference presentations, and media appearances span stress reactivity and sleep quality, remotely delivered behavioral interventions, and clinician education. She is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Sleep & Change Specialists, her clinical practice and consultancy, where clinical services, consulting, programs, professional education, and speaking inquiries are handled. This site documents her credentials and body of work.
